Thanks for sharing. I've always wanted to have a taste of Finnish short stories.

"Tell me how you want to die, and I'll tell you who you are. In other words, how do you fill out an empty life? With women, books, or worldly ambitions? No matter what you do, the starting point is boredom, and the end self-destruction. The emblem of our fate: the sky teeming with worms. Baudelaire taught me that life is the ecstasy of worms in the sun, and happiness the dance of worms."
---Tears and Saints, E. M. Cioran

I thought that RARE EXPORTS was brilliant; more in its bits and pieces than its entirety.

The idea of a violent, wild, human-like, Santa caught my attention immediately.

Interesting. Finland fascinates me, they have an extremely violent 20th century history and an incredible nature. They have Moomin, which is one of the most freaky kid's shows I have watched (and still watch). I will be taking a look at that collection.

"I myself have never seen the Red Tower - no one ever has, and possibly no one ever will. And yet wherever I go people are talking about it. In one way or another they are talking about the nightmarish novelty items or about the mysterious and revolting hyper-organisms, as well as babbling endlessly about the subterranean system of tunnels and the secluded graveyard whose headstones display no names and no dates designating either birth or death"

Thanks for sharing...I picked up a print copy of the first issue at Shamrokon 2014, and hope to visit the land of the Moomins as soon as possible. There's also some great Finnish books available, translated into English and pretty easy to find. Seek them out if you enjoy these free magazines.

UPDATE: Issue #3 now available for download.

Finnish Weird

On a side note, I'm very surprised and pleased by the amount of women in the Finnish weird fiction scene.
