I'm grateful that I am unable to binge this series, otherwise I would have nothing to look forward to each week.

I love how, 25 years later, we're seeing a new generation of Twin Peaks residents and (sadly) how history repeats itself - e.g. Shelly's daughter being married to a drugged-out loser.

Spoilery speculation follows:

I wonder if Richard Horne is actually related to Leo Johnson.
SPOILER-ISH:

I had wondered if maybe he was Audrey Horne's son? Who would be the father? DoppelCoop?

Re: Twin Peaks - Series 3

I really like the Dougie subplot. It's necessary comic relief; if the show was unremitting surreal horror I wouldn't be able to watch; the black lodge sequence almost gave me a panic attack.

Btw, did anyone notice the Franz Kafka poster in Cole's office? A nice easter egg.

It is one of the best things the show has ever done. Kyle MacLachlan is a revelation to me this season. Buster Keaton-esque.

Yeah, that would be a great twist - although he seems too pathetic to Black Lodge evil. I could see Bob eating his soul the way he did Wyndom Earle's.

Yes! The only thing better would have been a picture of TL on Denise Bryson's desk.

I wholeheartedly agree James. His performance of three distinct characters is Oscar-worthy (or Emmy- whatever the tv awards are called).

Re: Twin Peaks - Series 3

I wondered about Angelo Badalamenti's involvement.
I didn't even notice the music, I was so caught up in this scene

Spoilers ...

Re: Twin Peaks - Series 3

Laura Palmer's disappearance from the black lodge was very ligottian- akin to how Mr. Vizniak disappears in "The Clown Puppet." An unlikely conjecture, but perhaps Lynch was alluding to Ligotti?

I think it's possible Lynch and/or Frost have been reading Ligotti. I thought the fate of the young couple watching the glass box was very similar to the fate of Alb Indys in "The Troubles of Dr. Thoss" as well. It may be an allusion or homage to Ligotti, or it could be that they'd read him in the past and stored the idea in their subconscious, and paid tribute to him without even realizing it. There was another moment in the new season that reminded me of Ligotti, I can't remember what it was now.

Re: Twin Peaks - Series 3

Didn't Lynch's production company option Last Feast of Harlequin years back? If so, it's a fair bet Ligotti has affected his style in one way or another.
