I am increasingly concerned that at the centre of my soul lurks a terrifying blanknes
Funny, yet accurate article about the joys (or lack rather) of anhedonia.

Charlie's bilious raging has - perhaps paradoxically - provided me with a great deal of pleasure over the years.
Judging by his recent enthusiasm for Portal 2, life has regained some of its colour for him since this piece. | |||||||||||

i have days like that. things neither please nor displease me, and i go through them neither happy nor unhappy, then something amusing happens and i am brought back from anhedonia to the more familiar fields of hedonia where I spend most of my time.

Malone, this thread was oddly posted under Contests. Are there any prizes? (Yes, I have won something before in my life... yet I remain a ruthless lover of free swag. Please advise. )

G.S. Carnivals, I will offer a free copy of Portal 2 to anyone who can figure out what the contest is, and how to go about winning it.

Thanks, Jeff! After some checking, I now understand the Portal 2 reference. I'm not interested in video gaming at all, however. Life's too short, and there are so many Quirk Classics to contrive. , , and !

This thread has been moved to the Philosophy forum. Do I win a thorough psychoanalysis session to be conducted by a channeled Freud by way of a sycophant infested séance? If so, I will pass, as that sounds too much like my regular work routine.
