can, to arrest a man who travels with suicide in his buttonhole". Or, buttonholes being out of style, one can always travel with suicide in the dark abyss of his butthole. If that were the case, then there wouldn't be that many people around, there not being a whole lot of brave people in this world and all that.

Not always. The cases of botched suicides are legion, and the consequences often scarier than anything else, even continuing a miserable life. There are always worse things than death. Good luck having a second chance at doing it right if you end up a vegetable, or mentally incapable of thinking how good or bad your life really is.
