Creepy Comedy: Horror as Humor
As I've mentioned before, there are few tropes in modern TV comedy I enjoy more than the comedic approach to creepiness which is something I imagine other folks 'round these parts might appreciate as well, so here are a few of my favorite bits:

Re: Creepy Comedy: Horror as Humor
League of Gentlemen I've seen; it's something I liked watching and had really wanted to love, especially given the creators' influences were pretty close to my own heart, but for whatever reason it didn't have much of an overall effect on me. I did quite enjoy the holiday special, though. Psychoville is something I've heard some good things about, but have yet to watch.

A little snippet from Wonder Showzen, one of my all-time favorites and a veritable goldmine for this sort of thing:

I adore Tim & Eric's work. They make my masochistic nature tingle with all the depraved strangeness of their comedy. I flinch, I cringe and I gag, but I still keep coming back for more. The Steve Brule spinoff show is quite good as well.

I find this to be simultaneously (albeit inexplicably) hilarious while retaining the creeping disorientation of a fever dream. | |||||||||||
