The Ending of True Detective

I just reread Flannery O'Connor's remarks about "A Good Man is Hard to Find" and noticed something I had passed over unthinkingly. I should have quoted her whole paragraph about the Misfit-as-prophet:

Quote

"I don't want to equate the Misfit with the devil, I prefer to think that, however unlikely this may seem, the old lady's gesture, like the mustard-seed, will grow to be a great crow-filled tree in the Misfits' heart, and will be enough of a pain to him there to turn him into the prophet he was meant to become. But that's another story."

She ends by saying, "But that's another story," which I take to be an admonition that this goes beyond the story "A Good Man is Hard to Find."

I just wanted to add this in the interest of fairness, or accuracy, or whatever.
