A couple of points that leapt out at me:

The book will include seven original interviews, one of which is with Thomas Ligotti.

Toward the end of his post, Cardin writes, "Maybe Ill get back to editorial work on the first issue of Vastarien (something thats really pressing right now)."
Yeah, it seemed like Cardin has been very, very busy lately, which is why I haven't asked regarding the status of Vastarien. It's also good to hear that Ligotti is still alive; to be honest, I actually worry about the guy.

"In a less scientific age, he would have been a devil-worshipper, a partaker in the abominations of the Black Mass; or would have given himself to the study and practice of sorcery. His was a religious soul that had failed to find good in the scheme of things; and lacking it, was impelled to make of evil itself an object of secret reverence."

Re: Forthcoming Books

A new book from Sarob Press, the 3rd in the trilogy featuring John Howard, Mark Valentine and Ron Weighell. I've enjoyed the first two volumes, "Romances of the White Day" (dedicated to Arthur Machen) and "Pagan Triptych," (dedicated to Algernon Blackwood) and look forward to this one, "From Ancient Ravens" (focused on original work).

.... In this third, and final, shared volume, the three impostors use just such dark pens to evoke (in their own unique voices this time) the re-emergence of past shadows.

Mark Valentine ... THE FIFTH MOON ... the search for King Johns treasure ~ with a dark and diabolic twist
Ron Weighell ... THE ASMODEUS FELLOWSHIP ... a famous Budapest cafe, and a strange unholy gathering of story tellers
John Howard ... BETWEEN ME AND THE SUN ... past and present, secrets unveiled and a shocking coming of age.

Re: Forthcoming Books

My novel written with David Barker (who actually wrote moft of ye text, cos I'm a lazy sod...), WITCHES IN DREAMLAND, has been delay'd due to a change of publishers--it is nigh to be brought forth by Hippocampus Press. I doubt that will happen until early next year, but cannot be certain. My next collection from Centipede Press, AN ECSTASY OF FEAR AND OTHERS, may also be delay'd until early next year as Jerad is expanding ye illustrative contents. We have had some amazing drawings created by Tom Brown, some few of which I think I've pofted on me blog. The Enoch Coffin novel I had planned to write with Jeffrey Thomas has been abandoned by us both--we just have too much else to do to give such a work the detail'd effort it requires.

"We work in the dark -- we do what we can -- we give what we have. Our doubt is our passion and our passion is our task. The rest is the madness of art."
--Henry James (1843-1916)

Re: Forthcoming Books

Looming Low is an unthemed anthology of new, original, weird fiction. It's edited by me (Justin Steele) and Sam Cowan, and is published by Sam's press, Dim Shores. It's due out in August, in time for Necronomicon, and will be available as a trade paperback and a limited hardcover with alternate cover art. Here is the teaser picture with our authors listed, and I can post the full TOC with story titles at some point as well.

I don't think I've read any of his fiction before, but her collections are apparently thought highly of among the fans of Jamesian ghost stories.

Sisyphean
by Dempow Torishima

Quote
Even after the world and humanity itself have been rendered nearly unrecognizable by genetic engineering, a day in the office can feel...Sisyphean.
The company stands atop a tiny deck supported by huge iron columns a hundred meters high. The boss there is its president--a large creature of unstable, shifting form once called "human." The world of his dedicated worker contains only the deck and the sea of mud surrounding it, and and the worker's daily routine is anything but peaceful. A mosaic novel of extreme science and high weirdness, Sisyphean will change the way you see existence itself.

A strange journey into the far future of genetic engineering, and working life. After centuries of tinkering, many human bodies only have a casual similarity to what we now know, but both work and school continue apace. Will the enigmatic sad sack known only as "the worker" survive the day? Will the young student Hanishibe get his questions about the biological future of humanity answered, or will he have to transfer to the department of theology? Will Umari and her master ever comprehend the secrets of nanodust?
