Been gone for a while...
and I see one of my threads is still near the top! Huzzah!
Anyway, what have I missed? I've now finished grad school, so I have time to read for pleasure again. I missed out on the Subterranean Press re-issue of Grimscribe, but I see they're doing Noctuary, so I'll get on that. Any new authors worth checking out? Any TLO members get married? New t shirts? Bueller? |

Re: Been gone for a while...
Don't know how long you've been out so hopefully these are people you already know but I'll recommend them anyway: Simon Strantzas ("Nightingale Songs"), Laird Barron ("The Croning"), and Reggie Oliver ("Mrs. Midnight"). I also really enjoyed Jason Wyckoff's new collection from Tartarus Press ("Black Horse") and the Vandermeer's new anthology "The Weird" is outstanding.
Also, CONGRATS on finishing up grad school; funny how time frees up once a dissertation or thesis isn't hanging over your every waking moment.

Re: Been gone for a while...
Welcome back, Michael. It's been quite a while the last time we saw you around. A lot of things changed since then, even too many to enumerate. You should spend some time checking the "Recommended books" thread and News section.
And , yeah... I got married. ;)

Oh, yeah, that lady... unfortunately I had a yellow streak and ended up showing my true colours. So she dumped me.

Re: Been gone for a while...
Welcome back! And congrats on completing grad school. I just completed a degree myself (another one). That's part of the reason I've been a stranger around here lately too.
