Re: Picnic at Hanging Rock
There's a cycle of Peter Weir's early movies on French television in the following weeks, including PICNIC AT HANGING ROCK and THE LAST WAVE amongst others. Unfortunately it's on satellite TV and I don't have access to it...

Re: Picnic at Hanging Rock
Thank you for reminding me about this film! I've had a copy for some time but have not seen it. A friend tells me, though, that it has elements of L'Avventura and Days of Heaven.

Re: Picnic at Hanging Rock
Thanks for causing me to encounter this thread for the first time.
I see exactly what someone means by the Sarban reference and the 'Ringstones' stories. (One of my all time favourite stories is 'Calmahain'). The PAHR story actually reminds me of the recent Dr Who episode 'Blink!', whereby the angel-statues and Ayers Rock are interchangeable. | |||||||||||
