I haven't seen Anna Kavan mentioned, I'd probably suggest Sleep Has His House or Asylum Piece or Ice.

After years of trying to find a copy ever since this was recommended on this thread.. I finally tracked down a copy of Fur, written by Liliane Giraudon.. and it was worth it. Shades of Lautreamont, Duras, and Kiernan... I highly recommend this book to anyone with an interest in weird horror or transgressive and poetic French literature.
