Rejectionism/Antinatalism Fiction?

Can anyone recommend works of fiction that deal with Rejectionism (nothing to do with Israel) and/or Antinatalism? There's a growing body of non-fiction out there, but very few novels.

Re: Rejectionism/Antinatalism Fiction?

Well, H.P. Lovecraft: Against the World, Against Life by Michel Houellebecq is called by its own author a "kind of novel" about a real subject. According to Houellebecq it is not an essay, even though it is considered so.

I can't really think of anything else right now; I just got out of bed and it is 6:55 AM down here.

Cheers.

Your fall should be like the fall of mountains. But I was before mountains. I was in the beginning, and shall be forever. The first and the last. The world come full circle. I am not the wheel. I am the hand that turns the wheel. I am Time, the Destroyer. I was the wind and the stars before this. Before planets. Before heaven and hell. And when all is done, I will be wind again, to blow this world as dust back into endless space. To me the coming and going of Man is as nothing.

Re: Rejectionism/Antinatalism Fiction?

I consider TRISTRAM SHANDY by Laurence Sterne to be the ultimate anti-natalist novel.

I have not read Tristram Shandy. How is it antinatalist?

Sorry, not easy to explain succinctly, but here is the detailed review of it I carried out a month or two ago, in case you want to take this further.

Re: Rejectionism/Antinatalism Fiction?

Thanks; I just added it to my Favorites list and will give it a read. I am curious about the book since I saw a film version some years ago.

I will get back at you after I read yor review.

Re: Rejectionism/Antinatalism Fiction?

I have just read the short story BLAGDAROSS by Lord Dunsany that is a stoical gem, the ultimate anti-natalist fable (?), where a cork, broken kettle and old cord speak of their lot in life, and a rocking horse at the end goes off to fight in the Far East... And the old cord becomes a noose-knot or ligottus.
The story's text is here.

I am currently reviewing the Penguin Classic of Dunsany work here.
