Re: Most Embarassing Song You Which Captures Your Interest Lately

Because liking a song that seems so much an invitation to procreation as this one should embarass anyone who agrees with the basic argument of TCATHR.

Hot red pants anyhow.

"Moving stranger,
Does it really matter,
As long as you're not afraid to feel?
Touch me, hold me.
How my open arms ache!
Try to fall for me.

How I'm moved.
How you move me
With your beauty's potency.
You give me life.
Please don't let me go.
You crush the lily in my soul.

Moving liquid
Yes, you are just as water.
You flow around all that comes in your way.
Don't think it over,
It always takes you over,
And sets your spirit dancing.

How I'm moved.
How you move me
With your beauty's potency.
You give me life.
Please don't let me go.
You crush the lily in my soul.

and it works! I bought the entire Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy soundtrack for the Stephen Fry version of "Reasons to be miserable," as well as the Zaphod Beeblebrox campaign anthem. There is no escaping the dark power of marketing.

With that in mind, I must confess guilt over this song, which is indeed on my ipod

"I have a special plan for this world," and "The unholy city" are on the same device, so they may negate any long-term ill effects of procreation-inviting pop music.

... I'm embarrassed to love Shpongle's music because they are so unabashedly hippie and New Age sounding, but so enjoyable to listen to.

I used to listen to Shpongle's first album a lot. Strange sounds.

A few days ago, it was much warmer in Iowa than it had been, and I was driving along a somewhat crowded stretch of road in Des Moines, windows down and music blaring. In most cases I really don't care what impression the odd s**t I listen to may give passers-by. In this case though, my mind wandered off the music not long after this song started playing, no particular reason, I still really like it. I found myself stopped at a redlight, sandwiched between several cars full of attractive women with their windows rolled down. I hadn't noticed this until, growing impatient with the red light, I idly glanced around my periphery and noticed several of these very attractive ladies giving me this utterly bewildered expression. Up until that point, I also hadn't noticed that this was during the point in the song with spoken narrative regarding alien abductions. Might I add, I was driving by myself, yeah, not a whole lot ways to make yourself look cool at a moment like that.

Heh, Thordendal is one of the most brilliant musical visionaries currently living. Those chicks should have been embarrassed for snubbing it.

The best/worst part of this is how much righteous fury people are unloading on a 13-year-old girl. Proud moments.

All because of that XKCD comic strip xkcd: Party and my childhood fondness for Bill Hicks,

because that is how I roll.

edit: better link, with Bill Hicks actually singing!
