Found Dan Clore on goodreads filing this writer under "purple prose" with his other favourites as a compliment.

Appears to be best known for his history books and philosophical writing, perhaps more for the style than the content? I can't find any list that separates his non-fiction from his fiction and poetry.

He's got a poem in Spectral Realms no5. His novel, The Ghost Girl and his collection Purple & Fine Women have been listed as fantasies, so I'd maybe start there.

Most of his books are easy to get as ebooks or print on demand.

His wife Marie Florence Giles had a story in Weird Tales.
