Re: S.T. Joshi's new Cthulhu anthology will have a story from Tom

Gorgeous cover art.

I received 'A Mountain Walked' for Christmas but have only just gotten round to reading it. Just about to finish off the third story in the anthology: 'Spawn of the Green Abyss'.

Re: S.T. Joshi's new Cthulhu anthology will have a story from Tom

My story is yet another manifestation of my obsession with "Pickman's Model". It's a wee thing of 4,700, and although I swore I wou'd stop trying to use Pickman as a character in my fiction, I couldn't resist shewing him in Part One of ye tale, although under a different name. My story was not intended for S. T.'s anthology, originally meant to be one of ye unpublish'd original tales for my forthcoming Centipede Press collection; but S. T. liked the story so much that he insisted he use it in THE RED BRAIN. I'm really looking forward to this new Mythos anthology.

"We work in the dark -- we do what we can -- we give what we have. Our doubt is our passion and our passion is our task. The rest is the madness of art."

Re: S.T. Joshi's new Cthulhu anthology will have a story from Tom

I've been reading A Mountain Walked and I was a bit puzzled by Patrick McGrath's The Wreck of the Aurora. Though it's a vivid story, I didn't spot any relation to the Cthulhu Mythos, anything supernatural or even the "undercurrent of weirdness" that S. T. Joshi notes in the introduction.
What have I missed?
