A few notes for FlashChat users:
  • Who Is In Chat is no longer displayed on the forum portal page. To view this box, either proceed to Members-->Members Online or scroll down to the member information blocks on the main Forum page.
  • I suggest only initiating a FlashChat session via the menu option Contagion-->FlashChat. This will open a new window for the chat session. Do not enter chat via the Who Is In Chat launcher.
  • If you are being repeatedly kicked out of chat, you may try an alternative interface which does not utilize Flash. Be warned that this interface is only known to be compatible with FireFox and MS Explorer. Furthermore, the automatic login does not currently work correctly in that it displays your username as "null". To utilize this interface and correct the username issue:
    1. Launch AjaxChat via the menu option Contagion-->AjaxChat
    2. Close the chat session by clicking on the "X" enclosed within a red box at the welcome bar. Do not close the browser window, which could be a similar box at the top of your window.
    3. At the login prompt, enter your TLO username and password.
  • If you have problems, please detail them by replying to this thread so that I can troubleshoot the issue effectively.

I am confident that in time I can resolve these issues, given enough time and patience. However, it is very important that I receive detailed information regarding the issues encountered and the browser environment of the user. The issue is with FlashChat, not vBulletin, and the frustrations being experienced by TLO members are common with many sites attempting to integrate the two products.

I'm in Flashchat, now. According to the box at the top right, Candy is also in Flashchat. If that is true, she is being very reticent about posting any chat. Given how much Candy seems to like to chat, I feel that there is a 99.999999999983% chance that she is not really in Flashchat at all.

Well -- I've been in Flashchat for about three quarters of an hour, and not a word from Candy. The lack of conversation reads thus:

Pet, You know I could never ignore you!!! I think you have met the entity known as the Flashchat ghost. I was in Flashchat speaking with GS Carnivals last evening and I must have left my ghost in there. I hope you will be able to join in chat later today!!! I will try to be there but I must visit a friend who is in the hospital.

I couldn't get into flashchat tonight. The computer displayed a quite impressive graphic, and said at the bottom "transferring data from www.ligotti.net..." (at least, I think was what it said). From time to time, it said something else, but that message vanished too quickly (each time) for me to read it. The green lights on my hub (I think that's what the device is called) kept flashing. This went on for ages, and it was obviously not going to open.

I was looking forward to a bit of flashchat, too.
