Re: Off the radar metal album recommendations
Their latest: Can't stop listening to part V [starts around the 25th minute mark], it builds a solid wall of atmosphere comparable to the classics of the genre, Thorns' Home, Burzum's Dunkelheit, Gorgoroth's Sign of an Open Eye, etc.

Another dose of enjoyable weirdness, Nauseant from Sweden. Not sure what happened to these guys, they put out the one demo and 7" - both very Demilich influenced but looser and more drunk (or jazzy?) sounding - and then disappeared.

Bethlehem are an excellent band - truly sounds damaged though and I have to admit I don't listen to SUIZID as often as I should because it's so agonized. Same goes for Worship posted earlier too.

Re: Off the radar metal album recommendations
Hey all, first post here, and I thought I'd introduce a phenomenal yet reclusive band to this thread that I don't believe has been mentioned yet: STARKWEATHER. They began in the late 80's as a metal/hardcore fusion band, but as years have gone by, their (sparse) releases have gotten more and more abstract. Since the beginning their songs have been linearly structured and at this point their influences range from Fear of God to Iannis Xenakis. As a bonus, their vocalist/lyricist has been mentioning Ligotti (among many others) in interviews since the 90's. A track off their newest release is even titled 'Nightmare Factory'.
