Re: Your favourite song at the moment..

I have the new Morrissey album. (Thank you to my benefactor.)

In my opinion, this is the best song on it:

My judgement of the new album falls somewhere between these two viewpoints:

https://www.rte.ie/amp/920904/

https://blogs.spectator.co.uk/2017/1...cknroll-rebel/

In general, it seems like he's finally got round to a fresh-sounding musical approach just as his lyrics have descended into egregious stultification.

'I Bury the Living' is a real career low.

It seems doubtful that Morrissey will be voted Britain's second-from-the-top cultural icon a second time.

I like the above-linked tune, though. Very jaunty.

"We're all in trouble for something...."

A remembered quote.

Absolutely candid, carefree, but straightforward speech becomes possible for the first time when one speaks of the highest." - Friedrich Schlegel

"Tell me how you want to die, and I'll tell you who you are. In other words, how do you fill out an empty life? With women, books, or worldly ambitions? No matter what you do, the starting point is boredom, and the end self-destruction. The emblem of our fate: the sky teeming with worms. Baudelaire taught me that life is the ecstasy of worms in the sun, and happiness the dance of worms."

Like their recent Assassination of Julius Caesar lp, it's more Depeche Mode than Depeche Mode itself has ever been, and this from former black metallers.
