Re: The Croning--Laird Barron
I finished it last night. Beer instead of liquor, though. My copy came a few weeks ago, but work and a desire to make it last kept me from plowing through the whole thing at once. I will undoubtedly re-read it at some point, along with the directly related short stories, in a much smaller timeframe.
And yes, it is absolutely spectacular. | |||||||||||

Re: The Croning--Laird Barron
So I'm 100 pgs in and (admittedly) after only having read Barron's short stories, I'm not used to the amount of character development and build-up. But having read many lesser horror writers I think I can safely say that this qualifies as literature. Can't wait for the payoff! CHG

Re: The Croning--Laird Barron
I too was wondering how he would handle the character development and pacing with his first novel but having read his long work "The Light is the Darkness" he crafted that quite adeptly and although I'm only 70 pages in at this point he is rocking the s#*t out of this book.
