TLO ranking levels
Is there a place on TLO that shows how many posts a member must make to reach the different posting levels -- eg. Mannikin, Mystic, Chymist, Grimscribe?
I keep waiting for my number to be called to join the elite "Grimscribe" class, but am forever facing disappointment. Perhaps there is no set number. Perhaps it's an arbitrary classification dispatched at whim. Considering the home we have here, that would actually make more sense. In a way, I almost don't want to know the true answer, as the mystery is a bit of the fun. Still, the mystery is an itch in my brain.

Re: TLO ranking levels
TLO for a long time, and when I came back, and posted a comment, my TLO number went up hundred of points. It also look like that if you post regularly you just get very few points. It would really be interesting to know how they are really calculated, but other than, keep posting, people read comments not TLO numbers.

Re: TLO ranking levels
Simon and Alberto,
Member ranking requirements were available some time ago at TLO (before a few site upgrades). The evolved TLO, however, does currently offer a scheme for scoring various member activities. Just click on Members > Membership Experience > Earn Points. (It's fast, it's fun, it's free!) Your shameless Postmeister General, Phil

Re: TLO ranking levels
To be a Grimscribe requires a mere 500 posts. At my rate of posting, I'll be there in, oh, two or three years. Now that some members have far more than 500 posts, new designations may be needed. For, say, 10,000 posts I suggest -- all caps -- MANIAC.

Re: TLO ranking levels
A post by Gveranon is always a welcome break from the shameless self-promotion that swamps this forum nowadays. Keep at it, man.

I must confess that I'm quite fond of being a mere Mannikin... makes me feel like a character from one of my favourite stories, 'Evening Primrose'.

Re: TLO ranking levels
I have chosen to resurrect this thread because if the above is true, then when I hit "Post Reply" I will finally be at one with the Grimscribe. What colours will the world be, I wonder? Will the malignant mystery behind existence finally reveal itself to me? Will my puny human mind be able to cope with the awesome aspect of what lays before me? Frankly, I'm afraid to hit that button, knowing that I know nothing of what's to come. Perhaps I shouldn't. Perhaps living in ignorance is better than the alternative. Better to be a blind sheep than to see the truth.
I'm afraid, friends. I'm afraid of what's to come. Because though I know it may mean my end, I cannot help but press this button. Farewell the nomis you knew. In a moment, there will be something else in his place.
