Vargtimmen (Hour of the Wolf)

Ingmar Bergman was seen mainly as an obscure 'artsy' filmmaker, and it is true that fashion spectacle-wearing snobs regard him as a cinema guru, but much of his work, especially some of his medieval period pieces, and his b&w 60's dramas had a very psychological, visceral intensity about them.

Vargtimmen, though extremely slow moving, was probably my favorite of them. Indeed, if the entire film were like the last half-hour of the film it may well have become my favorite film (I still don't have one).

I can't find just one long clip or even sequential clips of the best section of the film so here are a few scraps, a few have clips from his other films mixed in.

Dammit, most of them have spanish subtitles, hope a few of you have that tongue in your repetoire.

Re: Vargtimmen (Hour of the Wolf)

Lately I've been bovered by my waning interest in movies, but then over the weekend, I re-watched Pedro Almodavor's Talk to Her and realized that I love film, just not recent releases. I tried to remember what other films totally floored me and then recalled this thread. Hour of the Wolf is the film adaptation of the Lost Art of Twilight that was made/never will be made
