What book are you most looking forward to?

I have been reading Mencken for years, and I enjoy his work immensely. S.T. Joshi edited a book of his writings called On Religion . It was my favorite book of that year.

I have been looking forward to this book for quite a while and have been keeping tabs on it and it was just released.

But $40 for a kindle book? Something that isn't even tangible? I am hesitant.

Probably next would be Of Kings and Things by Stenbock due in late October.

Re: What book are you most looking forward to?

It is the book I stumble across, quite by accident, written by an author I have not heard of before, whose prose bends my mind into unnatural geometric shapes.

Re: What book are you most looking forward to?

I get that we're talking about books that are about to be published, but I am (optimistically) looking forward to finding a copy of "Eddie" Angerhuber's 'Nocturnal Products' more than just about anything.

Except the imminent hardcover publication of Quentin S. Crisp's new book.

Put your faith in God; he won't expect you.
Put your faith in death, because it's free.
If you believe in nothing, honey, it believes in you.

Same for me. I have been waiting for it for some time, and obsessively followed Tibet's blog posts. Stenbock's poems included in The Moons at Your Door were the highlight of the collection.

The new collection of Bernhard's poems translated by Reidel (who has translated Trakl as well) is another one I'm excited for.

Re: What book are you most looking forward to?

Forthcoming books I'm looking forward to:

On the Decay of Criticism: The Complete Essays of W. M. Spackman
Richard Powers, The Overstory: A Novel
Quentin S. Crisp, The Paris Notebooks and Aiaigasa
Samuel R. Delany, The Atheist in the Attic
Stream System: The Collected Short Fiction of Gerald Murnane
Fran Lebowitz, Progress
Colin McGinn, Philosophical Provocations: 55 Short Essays
David Auerbach, Bitwise: A Life in Code
Peter Stamm, To the Back of Beyond (English translation)
Matt Cardin, Horror Literature through History (2 vols)
and forthcoming journals Vastarien and Thinking Horror, vol. 2

The Cardin encyclopedia is unfortunately very expensive (priced for academic libraries, I suspect).
