Pardon me while I fling a dart at a map of Illinois. (And the S really is silent, people). Chicago was a fine band through Chicago III. But the band's transit toward Shinola under a generic designation gives it the distinction of being quite execrable, so to speak. If I had the authority, I would grab Chicago by the horns and wrestle it to the ground...

Okay, well, here's a "cool" band I dare to loathe: The Flaming Lips

Re: Bands I Loathe

I just remembered a quote, but I fogot the source(The Onion perhaps)

"You know the party's over once they whip out the Dead bootlegs."

I loathe the Grateful Dead.

I hear that Anne Coulter's a big fan of theirs.
Color me unsurprised.

Re: Bands I Loathe

Although two personal "favorite bands" have been tarred and feathered and loathed prior to being ridden out of town on a rail, I will not rise to their defense. I realize that tastes are relative. As individuals, our preferences in music, literature, and food vary. Bring on the stock, pillory, and electric chair, I say!

Just a little music and literature for thought,
Phil

Re: Bands I Loathe

waffles, rest assured that I did not edit your post about The Grateful Dead. Your text remains the same. I clicked on the Edit button by mistake rather than on Post Reply. I then clicked Save. Perhaps the Back button would have saved me. As a moderator, the powers of my magic wand apparently kicked in. This is sometimes like learning to drive. G. S., I am going to buy you a genuine plastic dashboard Jesus to assist you with your driving...

Another band I detest is The Eagles. One of these nights I am going to hitchhike across the country so I can torch the Hotel California!

Re: Bands I Loathe

G.S., rest assured that I'm incapable of resting assured (or just plain old resting) but only hope that I haven't trashed a favorite band of yours. Rest assured, some of my best friends are Dead Heads. I will buy a tie-died Jesus cozy for your new dashboard ornament.

Cheers!
