Malicious intrusion

For a few days (1st warning happened on June 28th), I've been receiving a ton of warnings from my Kaspersky AntiVirus for every page I visit on TLO: warning about a malicious webpage and a malicious download blocked by my software.

I've contacted Kaspersky to check if it came from them (faulty settings in the software update or anything) and they just replied that they did a check on the TLO website and that they found indeed a javascript intrusion alert. They said I should report that to the admin people.

Am I the only one experiencing this kind of issue?

Re: Malicious intrusion

For the past week or more I've been getting a notice that Firefox is out of date and to update it. A javascript box shows up calling itself Firefox updater. I ignore it. My browser has always been updated immediately.

Re: Malicious intrusion

I get a similar message regading Google Chrome too, after entering TLO; it stops after the first time, when I re-enter. Also, the update was blocked by Chome itself because it considers it suspicious.

Re: Malicious intrusion

Thanks, everyone. I haven't seen any indication of issues on my side. The things you all are describing sound like a more general virus/malware problem. Do you all have virus/spyware protection? If not, I recommend installing and running Malwarebytes to see if it picks anything up.

Re: Malicious intrusion

I have not received any warnings.
My browser is a bit left-field.
At this time my main protection is AVG.
I also run script blocking extensions.
At TLO I only block two minor java scripts (easycounter and Google Analytics).
The FBI recently issued a warning about malware targeting routers.
Cure is easy - turn off router, count ten, switch back on.

Re: Malicious intrusion

I use Firefox, Adblock, and NoScript. I haven't seen any warning.

Re: Malicious intrusion

Thanks for your comments and suggestions. I ran Malwarebytes, and the analysis didn't find anything suspicious. Since I use Firefox and Adblock as well, I suppose it's a script-related thing. I'll try NoScript and let you know how that goes!

Re: Malicious intrusion

Okay, so, NoScript kind of helped but only by disabling all scripts on the website, which I didn't want. Couldn't find a way to tweak it and only disable the faulty script.

So I downloaded uBlock Origin, and I could have access to the list of all scripts executed on the webpage. I found the one that Kaspersky was incriminating, blocked it, and now it seems everything's working like a charm!

Thanks again everyone for your input!
