Arrow Exhibits from the Imaginary Museum

FINALLY! After...good lords, I don't even know how long I've been working on this damn thing--I finally have something for y'all to listen to! The track linked below is, for now, simply called the "Overture" to the album of songs based on/inspired by Herr Ligotti's stories that I'm working on. The track is still far from finished, but as far as basic motifs, structures, and so forth, it's done; from here on out, I'll just be tweaking a few things here and there and doing the final mastering and stuff. And then I get to start work on the rest!

Check it out here
. I tried to embed the player directly in the page, but that wasn't happening, alas....

The song is primarily in A Locrian. Originally, the entire album was going to be based on "Dr. Locrian's Asylum"--hence the choice of the key for the song--but there were just so many moments from various stories that really inspired me, I simply had to expand the project's scope. Since I really like the Locrian mode, however, chances are most of the tracks will use it.

So...any thoughts? Suggestions? Things you like and/or don't like about the piece? C'mon, people, I need some direction here, dammit! Heh.

-----

While I'm on the subject, here are the stories that have formed the basis of several protoplasmic tracks:

The Frolic
Les Fleurs
The Chymist
The Troubles of Dr. Thoss
Dr. Voke and Mr. Veech
Dr. Locrian's Asylum, of course
The Sect of the Idiot
The Music of the Moon
Flowers of the Abyss
Nethescurial
The Shadow at the Bottom of the World
The Prodigy of Dreams
Mrs. Rinaldi's Angel
The Tsalal
Severini
The Clown Puppet
The Red Tower

I've actually assembled a string quartet much like the one in "The Music of the Moon" to produce what I think the group in the story played in that spooky-ass attic. I accept NO responsibility if anyone listening to the piece ends up cocooned and eyeless! Y'all should already know what you're getting into here.
