Questionable book covers for any kind of book

Didn't want to screw with this thread too much
Terrible Covers for Great Books - THE NIGHTMARE NETWORK
so I created a new one.

The covers don't always have to be bad exactly but most of them probably will be. Some might just be silly in a fun way.

This Mary Gentle book is supposed to be a good book, I saw it in a charity shop recently but didn't pick it up because the cover rubs me wrong and there is another book with most of the same content
http://www.isfdb.org/wiki/images/4/4a/LTHODV1994.jpg

I've complained about this one on another thread because this is the expanded version, so I cant get an earlier edition with a better cover without missing the extra story.

Perhaps here the contents are questionable but the cover is completely appropriate.

Not gonna lie, morbidly curious as to how a Milo Yiannopoulos-penned science fiction story would read.

Re: Questionable book covers for any kind of book

It's just a foreword, he written a couple of forewords to such anthologies. I think he once said he would write a story but I doubt it will happen.

On the opposite political side Laurie Penny has written some SF books and I believe one of the heads of Zero Books writes in the genre too.

I just remembered Milo was a thing and felt mildly annoyed, but then I remembered his career died and he's millions of dollars in debt, so now I'm smiling.

He seems to be trying to mimic Contrapoints in his own videos now. He must be desperate.

It's a shame we had to be exposed to his existence.

Weren't you going about Milo being an 'entertaining troll' a couple of years back James. It should have been apparent from the right off that he was a horrible little American bully (recall a video of him mocking a woman in a head-scarf) but I don't think that's the root of your problem with him - it's that he's a horrible little right-wing American bully.

Sometimes one really hopes that the world is run by a secret cabal of Illuminati, Lizard Men or Greys. It's considerably less disturbing than the idea that these peoples votes actually influence things.

Re: Questionable book covers for any kind of book

If memory serves someone on here (forget who) referred to Justin Isis as the "Milo Yiannopoulos of Thomas Ligotti Online" and James mentioned how he'd be a much better candidate for that label... though I assume it was partly in jest.

I guess I just found it amusing that when Milo found himself in hot water he tried to play the victim card, which I found to be ironic seeing as he had spent so much time castigating people who took that same route.

It was a self-deprecating joke about how I'm also British, camp and very annoying. I was an SJW soy boy beta Cucktural Marxist long before I joined TLO, though I definitely have less complacency than I used to on a few topics since I came out of my bubble a bit more. I could no doubt still do a lot better about my personal development.
