Radio plays? Radio plays!
I was searching online for archives of old sci-fi/horror/suspense radio plays, and found this page. Appropriately enough, I'm currently listening to The Creaking Door production of "The Dummy," described thus: "A man is possessed by a ventriloquist dummy."
I love these things. Even the parts that have nothing to do with the show are great (i.e., the cigarette ads!) I've never listened to them much, but my enjoyment of the form goes back to third grade, when we made our own "spooky" radio play as a class project (I remember operating the sheet metal thunder machine.) I know there are a few HPL adaptations in the AudioBox, but I'd love to find more, if anyone knows of some good resources. I've also found this sci-fi podcast show, and the Internet Archive has a general slew of old time radio ("Dimension X" sounds good!) An original radio play by TLO members would be pretty cool to hear some day, too.

Re: Radio plays? Radio plays!
I also agree about a TL radio show, via podcast with some images, but the best thing would be to have the man himself read his work while the rest of us make the background noise and the annoying mid term adds! Just imagine it: “Tired? Stressed? Paranoid? Come and pay us a visit at Dr. Locrian’s Asylum! Reserve your place today! (whisper: the real asylum may differ from the one in the picture)"

Re: Radio plays? Radio plays!
You're quite welcome, Karnos. It's good to know I can still make internet friends even after getting rid of myspace.
Well, I don't think I need any help finding more radio plays at the moment. I can now add the Old Time Radio Network to my list of links. Already, I've got my work cut out for me. Fortunately, I've got a trip planned for New Year's weekend, and I'll have 4+ hours of travel each way. Time to burn some CDs!

I'm not sure if this is the best place to post this - but it seems as good a place as any. I apologise up front for those who are unable to access the BBC iPlayer downloads, I'm not sure if it's only available in the UK.
Anyway, an excellent little short story/radio play if you have 15 minutes to spare ..."punishment time".... BBC Radio 4 Extra - Patrick McGrath - The Smell

NoSleep Podcast S5E25 - The NoSleep Podcast
This was ####ing glorious. Most of their episodes are narrations of pretty run of the mill creepypasta stuff, but this is lengthy full cast audio drama. Extremely atmospheric, somewhere between original Blair Witch and Blackwood's wilderness horror. Do check it out.

Re: Radio plays? Radio plays!
The H.P. Lovecraft Historical Society has some excellent radio plays in CD of some of Lovecraft's stories. These are done in a 1930's style and come with cool props from the stories inside the CD. Check out "The Call of Cthulhu" and "At the Mountains of Madness" especially. The HPLHS website has had a makeover and is cool also to visit. Membership is well worth it.

Big Finish provide the gold standard with their audio dramas. I am a fan of their Dark Shadows and Doctor Who ranges, but these Sapphire & Steel audios I have just started may be best of all.
