I simply consider it a very dubious proposition that you'd be prepared to assimilate ideas that run counter to your own philosophical perspective. When one forms an objection to a great (Japanese) writer, as you did, in terms of dehumanising abuse (i.e., your references to "swinishness"), it scarcely augurs well for the open-mindedness or intellectual acumen of said poster. It indicates a closed-minded person with whom it is not worth debating.

You may "take" whatever fantasy conclusions you wish from the above response. I would expect nothing else. It's the level to which political discourse has descended in the 21st Century. Mere invective.

Yours etc.

I'm quite familiar with the great Japanese writer, some of whose work I do admire in its English translation. And with some knowledge of his biography, about which he himself was quite open, it doesn't take much of a psychologist to tell that his radical militaristic political maneuverings in post-war Japan coupled with his sado-maschochistic death-fantasies were the mark of a deeply disturbed, narcissistically perverted individual. At the very least, his propaganda-suicide is not something which is fit to be considered honourable by anyone of intellectual maturity, openmindedness notwithstanding.

As for the "swinish" characterizations I've made use of in previous posts, it should be obvious to anyone who've read 'My Work Is Not Yet Done' (to which I've made clear reference) just how they were meant. What exactly does your failure to consider this context say about your "intellectual acumen"?
