LIgottian Robot Movie Smackdown: Wall-E vs. Blinky!

While some robots approach that doll/mannequin/puppet vibe that shows up in LIgotti stories, Many just look too much like gadgets to come close. They stare at us not with dead eyes that imitate a human expression but with sensors positioned to gather data and feed it back to some computer in exchange for instructions on how to respond. It is not impossible for these little autonomous gadgets to make their way into that degenerate little unholy town on a northern border that used to be called Murder Town we all know and love, though, and I posit two contenders for Most Ligottian Bot.

In the grey corner, weighing as much as a human grade schooler, capable of doing menial household tasks and playing simple games, BLINKY! He doesn't handle contradicting instructions well, and takes what people say very literally, but he means well and just wants to be your friend. Blinky™ - FANTASY on Vimeo

In the yellow corner, weighing as much as an average microwave, Wall-E. Toiling away for probably-extinct masters in that ideal world with no humans and no conscious thought, a machine still fulfilling its ancient instructions because it still can.

so whaddya think? Blinky the Bruising Butler or "The Brick" Wall-E?
