Nothing wrong with Brett's Holmes. Quite to the contrary i'd say.
In fact, the mention here prompted me to rewatch the Brett version of Hound of the Baskervilles. Enjoyed it immensely.

I'm skeptical of this and all of the theories that imply some kind of grand design on Lynch's part. He doesn't seem like that kind of artist to me.
I agree. Lynch even refused to divide his films into chapters for the DVD releases because that is not the way his films are meant to be watched.

Your fall should be like the fall of mountains. But I was before mountains. I was in the beginning, and shall be forever. The first and the last. The world come full circle. I am not the wheel. I am the hand that turns the wheel. I am Time, the Destroyer. I was the wind and the stars before this. Before planets. Before heaven and hell. And when all is done, I will be wind again, to blow this world as dust back into endless space. To me the coming and going of Man is as nothing.

Re: Twin Peaks - Series 3

I loved the original run of TP. I haven't seen the new episodes yet.

Don't misunderstand me. When I pick it up on DVD I may think it's the best thing since God made Anita Eckberg. But...
Reading your comments on the series without any knowledge of the story...well, IT SOUNDS NUTS.

Why do I have a feeling Lynch would smile at that?

It is nuts!
I envy you your first viewing when you're able to get around to it.
