Joshi's upcoming anthology The Red Brain will also feature a new Mark Samuels novella. Joshi apparently considers it to be one of the best stories that appeared in his recent anthologies.

I'm not surprised. Samuels doesn't strike me as the kind of writer who likes to promote his own work, so it's nice when Joshi gives credit where credit is undoubtedly due. It's not how many are praising X work or writer - it's "who" is praising it.

Mark has no desire to release those stories as they are. He's said that he would need to revise them, perhaps extensively. I hope he does one day, but I'm sure he'd rather write new fiction (and before he does anything he needs to get back on his feet... see the Pilgrim Stranger thread for info on the unfortunate circumstances he's currently facing... and there is a PayPal donation link on his blog if you'd like to help).

Regarding Written in Darkness, I'm lucky to have the Egaeus version, but I'm glad that his work is being made as widely available as possible.

That appeared so soon after the upload that I doubt the commenter even watched the interview. In fact, the account from which the comment is made is so barren that I suspect it was opened merely in order to make the comment. Such are the motives by which some appear to live.

I wish you kept it running and interviewed the deliveryman. Great vid. Wasn't expecting to be name checked. Didn't really think Mark even remembered me.
