You would find great books in there with absolutely no wear, no scratches, no marks of obvious use. Since I was way to shy to ask for them and because I am not a thief, I would silently swap some of those books with Palahniuk paperbacks. This way I traded Fight Club for La-Bas, Invisible monsters for Invisible Cities, Diary for In cold blood and Survivor for And the ass saw the angel

I still believe it was a fair trade.
What you did remind me of Gousse from Jacques the Fatalist & His Master:
" 'What has the death of your Sorbonne Professor got to do with the book I want? Did you take the other two from his library?'
'Certainly.'
'Without his consent?'
'Why should I need that for an act of redistributive justice? All I did was find a better location for the books by transferring them from a place where they were useless to another where they would be put to good use.' "

"Tell me how you want to die, and I'll tell you who you are. In other words, how do you fill out an empty life? With women, books, or worldly ambitions? No matter what you do, the starting point is boredom, and the end self-destruction. The emblem of our fate: the sky teeming with worms. Baudelaire taught me that life is the ecstasy of worms in the sun, and happiness the dance of worms."

How to Win Friends and Influence People.

Your fall should be like the fall of mountains. But I was before mountains. I was in the beginning, and shall be forever. The first and the last. The world come full circle. I am not the wheel. I am the hand that turns the wheel. I am Time, the Destroyer. I was the wind and the stars before this. Before planets. Before heaven and hell. And when all is done, I will be wind again, to blow this world as dust back into endless space. To me the coming and going of Man is as nothing.

I don't think anyone read this book anymore. People like to mention it when they want to seem 'ambitious'.

Those Chicken Soup for the Soul books. It takes me some time before I realize they are not a serial of cooking books dedicated to chicken soup of every variety. Moreover, I hate chickens.

Re: Books You Will Never Read

A book I desperately want to read, but currently can't due to it being out of print, is The Sacrifice and Other Stories by Sarban. I love Ringstones, The Doll Maker and The Sound of His Horn so damn much. I can currently find no way of realistically obtaining this tome.

Who do I have to blow at Tartarus Press to get this released as an ebook?

Re: Books You Will Never Read

Valancourt Books is taking reprint suggestions. Just now I suggested The Sacrifice and Other Stories by Sarban
