"The Frolic" short film now on Amazon Prime
For those of you who may have never seen it, the short film adaptation of "The Frolic" (written by Ligotti and Brandon Trenz, directed by Jacob Cooney) is now streaming on Amazon Prime.

This short film was actually quite a treat. I was skeptical at first, but I was pleasantly surprised by the end. The actor who played John Doe was especially good. The $1.99 price is more than fair, especially for an independent short film based on an author whose work we'll probably not see adapted to a feature length film, unfortunately.
Having worked on a few independent movie sets, I think the crew did fantastic. | |||||||||||

Does anyone know how copyrights were worked around? Did the filmmaker have to pay royalties to Ligotti or the publisher? I am a filmmaker myself and am desperate to adapt one of Ligotti's short stories but am terrified of a lawsuit or, more likely, having a film I worked diligently on with a great deal of passion be unavailable for public consumption.
