I might pick this up just for the sake of being able to read Stenbock for the first time. Stenbock desperately needs a proper collected fictions published in English

Agreed. The two Stenbock stories Tiebet included in this collection served as my introduction to his (Stenbock's) work as well, and I certainly wasn't disappointed. His writing seems similar to that of MR James, and almost as equally enjoyable/unsettling. | |||||||||||
