Re: Ligotti panel at NecronomiCon Providence 2017
Let's move on. This thread wasn't intended to indict anyone on either side. This is about a major panel at this convention being dedicated to the work of Thomas Ligotti.

I hope there will be a decent amount of time devoted to David Tibet and Current 93 in this panel.

Re: Ligotti panel at NecronomiCon Providence 2017
Hope the convention panel is a brilliant success. No one has worked harder for wider recognition of Ligotti's fiction than you, Jon, so I hope you have a blast. It's obvious Ligotti is here to stay.

Jon, I just found a link to the full essay on Borges' and Durrenmatt's detective fiction. It's placed in that thread now.

We are going to miss you and your singular insight so much, Matt. And, of course, I'm personally bummed out since this was going to be the first time we met in person after 20 some odd years of friendship! But you can bet I'll be giving you the run down of all that occurs. | |||||||||||

Glad to see that Frater's going. He's bound to lend his unique perspective to events, and I hope he gives us his own wrap-up as well.

Re: Ligotti panel at NecronomiCon Providence 2017
Speaking as someone who attended in 2013 and 2015 and was marginally involved with working on 2017, a portion of NecronomiCon is indeed about Lovecraft. Looking at this year's programming, it seems to be about 50/50 Lovecraft and non-Lovecraft content. Each iteration ventures further away from the Lovecraft circle and orthodox Mythos topics as its core. Simon Strantzas sums up the general vibe quite well in this new blog post, I think. A very short read that is well worth it.
