I didn't mean to imply I use ghost stories as 'escapism' in the traditional sense it is used with fiction. They're anything but that sort of escapism for me. They are meditations on my true concerns. This stuff is very real to me. They're an escape of clarity from a world of nonsense. I find more truth in Robert Aickman or Reggie Oliver stories than on social media or the news.
