Re. Favorite Female Weird Poets?

It would be interesting to see what women poets, especially poets of the weird, surreal, supernatural or uncanny, have moved readers of TLO.

For some recent examples, the fascinating and entertaining Greydogtales blog recently recommended three women poets; Ashley Dioses, Anita Stewart and Angela Yuriko Smith.

greydogtales - Literature, lurchers and life

"Think not, O Lilias, that the love of this night will endure in the sun. Hast thou beheld fungi, white, evil, rosy-lined, poisonous, shrivel in the eyes of day?"
- Nora May French

Emily aside (as if) this really has stuck with me Dark Poetry - Page 23 - THE NIGHTMARE NETWORK

(Hopfrog et al. with thanks, if the attribution doesn't appear)

Book Monster Jessica Amanda Salmonson

I read the forbidden book and joined the mad-- I gleaned deadly knowledge from beyond the page.
I now believe profoundly in the wonderful copulation of demons and saints.

I swam the wine-red sea.
I observed the drifting dead.
I charged my brilliant mind with darkness.
I climbed the hill of skulls.
I lost this finger Not to bitter cold But bitter jaws.
I placed my own skull upon the apex of Humanity's deceits.
I sipped poison, Dining with the laughing lords
Then slept beneath the lids of sarcophagi engraved with faces nobler than mine.

I read the forbidden book and joined the mad.
I now believe profoundly in the wonderful copulation of demons and saints.

one of the lines is my favourite in any poem

"Truly, your coquetry will not evoke
Any award that does not do it wrong;
Who of these mortal hearts can grasp the joke?
The charms of horror only suit the strong!"
