Topic Nominated H.P. Lovecraft dark ambient tribute from Cryochamber

"Arguably the largest Dark Ambient project to date, the Cthulhu album is a collaboration between 12 artists who all worked together to pay tribute not only to Lovecraft, but to what lurks beyond our colorful illusion."

Cthulhu | Cryo Chamber

Pretty impressive compilation for those interested in dark ambient. It captures the Cthulhu vibe very nicely, I think and is a great compliment to the oncoming season.

Awesome, I'll check that one out. I'm always on the lookout for quality DA stuff! Thanks!

Interesting they promote as a 24bit company, but are selling a CD in 16bit. The only 24bit option appears to be FLAC. If instead that was a SACD it would be incredible.
Agreed. They require everything on their label to be produced in 24-bit, but I find it a bit strange they don't offer more listening options that support it considering it is a selling point for them. But, I personally don't really have a stake in the argument since I'm not sold on 24-bit anyhow.

Most of the recording artists and record label owners I know remain unconvinced of the need for 24 bit audio as a consumer format.

Kind of Blue is an all-time favorite. I'd heard an earlier Peter Ulrich album (used to sell a lot of Projekt label CDs around that time) but didn't know there was another. I'll have to check it out!

- I've burned a copy of this, and I'm rigging up a cd player in the garage so that tonight's visiting trick or treaters will be serenaded by the otherworldly rumbles and dread-soaked droning of mighty Cthulhu.
