Trump

I don't know what you think about Trump! But I decided to raise the topic here as I think he was preternaturally created from fiction literature, that is as Jethro Furber in Omensetter's Luck by William H. Gass in 1966.
My budding theories on this are growing exponentially here:

George Soros seems to be preternaturally created from fiction literature. Soros is like a James Bond villain.

Re: Trump

The NEA has little to do do with "traditional art." I'd support it if it did. Do we need to subsidize works like "Piss Christ" or the inanities of so-called performance artists? Reread my post.

Just my opinion.

It amuses me that some think I'm a Conservative. In truth, some of my political positions would hardly be welcomed by the Right: limited amnesty for Illegals without felony convictions, legalization of drugs, and so forth.

Still, these days I have more sympathy for Conservatives as opposed to those on the Left. Wasn't always like that.

Re: Trump

I have many sympathies with the American libertarian movement, apart from when it comes to economics because they're hilariously wrong.

Traditional Art was once avant garde.
I see myself as a sort of Avant Garde Traditionalist.
Meanwhile, the Trumpish trend seems generally anti-Art and anti-Literature, does it not?
Still we shall all likely be IN dark art soon anyway via the perceived Trumpish attitude to Global Warm(onger)ing!

I wholeheartedly agree that stuff like the Christ in urine thing is a pointless endeavor as art of its kind isn't about furthering any sort of craft or mastery of artistic mediums, but simply shocking people. It indeed shouldn't be bothered with by anybody, much less the government.

But, that's not really my point. My point is that Trump and his party don't really care about art one way or another, like many other things. The money isn't in giving grants to worthy artists and expanding funding for education. It is evident that Trump doesn't want to do anything but to diminish every service of the government and put forth money for anything except maybe the military.

Re: Trump

That's nonsense.

One could say, "Conservatism is a delicate Garden and Liberals are the Japanese Beetles." That, too, is nonsense.

I'm not a Conservative, friend, but Trump is the horse I backed.

Re: Trump

Robert, Gandhi believed in non-violence PERIOD. It worked against the British, it wouldn't have worked against Hitler. Gandhi's philosophy was more complex than you imagine. I accept violence as a necessary evil AT SOME POINT. Don't mistake me for a pacifist. But I still believe in Gandhi and King as well as that great believer in compromise, Booker T.

But Gandhi was a dirty little racist like Lovecraft. Don't know what he said but it must have been bad and we must delete it from history before more young antifa minds are warped forever.

SPLC is just a vacuum cleaner for their offshore accounts.

I just want to add my name to the list of people who do not value anything that comes out of the SPLC.

Re: Trump

I am fine with Trump. I am fine with Hillary too, if she had won. Alot of educated middle class people around me voted for Trump, and I somewhat understand his appeal to them. Trump appears like an un-PC rebel, iconoclast of the century against Hillary's smug establishment attitude of I-cannot-possibly-lose. They also called her a liar for all the scandals she got involved in.

"So in the end it remains advisable to accept whatever comes, to behave like an inert mass even if one feels oneself being swept away, not to be lured into a single unneccesary step, to regard others with the gaze of an animal, to feel no remorse, in short to crush with one's own hand any ghost of life that subsists, that is, to intensify the final quiet of the grave still further and let nothing beyond that endure." ---Franz Kafka, Resolutions
