Re: What Are You Doing For The Solar Eclipse?
The weather's holding. Right now the sun's about half "gone." Starting to get weird.

"Tell me how you want to die, and I'll tell you who you are. In other words, how do you fill out an empty life? With women, books, or worldly ambitions? No matter what you do, the starting point is boredom, and the end self-destruction. The emblem of our fate: the sky teeming with worms. Baudelaire taught me that life is the ecstasy of worms in the sun, and happiness the dance of worms."

Just saw the total eclipse for 2 1/2 minutes. Amazing.

Re: What Are You Doing For The Solar Eclipse?
Heavy cloud cover here. There was some brightness behind the clouds, but it was hard to tell precisely where the sun was. It got dark enough that streetlights came on, and cicadas started singing loudly. It was eerie, especially during the darkest minutes, but I wasn't able to see the actual eclipse.

I regard it as a dress rehearsal for how the world ends. Not a bad thing, kind of the cool Weird.
But, you know, the human race would never be that lucky. | |||||||||||

Re: What Are You Doing For The Solar Eclipse?
From the Caribbean I can only see a partial solar eclipse, but I set out to see it with my dog and three cats who could care less, but they keep me company. And so a day after HPL's birthday and the passing of Brian Aldiss-RIP, this celestial event helps us to forget the Kali Yuga we live in for a while.By the way, Twin Peaks keeps rolling along and sadly the log lady has passed away for real.

Re: What Are You Doing For The Solar Eclipse?
Marionata, I've noticed my own cats indifference to the eclipse. Only Roosters and some insects seem to be greatly affected.
