Indeed. But in this precise case, the "bonus" is worth its name.

Re: Favorite Coil Album

I don't think Horse Rotorvator sounds as dated as LSD or Scatology. Even the drum patterns sound ancient and "Roman-esque". Still, I voted for Musick, because it has that nighttime atmosphere that I love.

Re: Favorite Coil Album

I don't know Robert... a lot of those comments were on the lines of "I knew a guy who knew [person X] who said this" but little in the way of conclusive proof or actual evidence. And I take anything that Genesis P-Orridge claims with a grain of salt, especially with all the bad blood that existed between him and Sleazy.

Oddly enough, in some ways if all that is true it almost boosts Coil's industrial credibility... a transgressive/perverted musical act that genuinely was transgressive/perverted!

At the risk of being anal: I do think it's possible the band (or I should say some of the members of the band) was attracted to teenage boys, but that doesn't classify them as pedophiles... hebephiles would be the more accurate term.

Re: Favorite Coil Album

There's news of a release (with a Twin Peaks connection) and a guy (read the StirMonster posts) questioning the claims but still helping Thai children just in case...

Coil s/d c/d etc

Been meaning to listen to Coil for years but I still haven't spun my copy of Horse Rotorvator yet.

I would guess/hope that most of their fans are more mature than that.

Re: Favorite Coil Album

Oh my God.
I did not know this group, but thought it might be a mix of Lacuna Coil or This Mortal Coil.
After listening for ten minutes to Horse Rotorvator, I fled.

Re: Favorite Coil Album

I do not know much about Coil, but this book by Ossian Brown is amazing.

Your fall should be like the fall of mountains. But I was before mountains. I was in the beginning, and shall be forever. The first and the last. The world come full circle. I am not the wheel. I am the hand that turns the wheel. I am Time, the Destroyer. I was the wind and the stars before this. Before planets. Before heaven and hell. And when all is done, I will be wind again, to blow this world as dust back into endless space. To me the coming and going of Man is as nothing.

Re: Favorite Coil Album

Severe allegations should be based on more than rumours, hearsay and (mis)interpreting extracts from interviews.
It is certainly true that Peter Christopherson earned his nickname "Sleazy" because of his interest in (all kinds of) sex and from some of the videos he posted after he had moved to Thailand you could certainly see that he didn't mind too much being around young(er) men but there is a difference between that and the accusations levelled at him.
