Great news! And about time. I just hope that someone from the Cultural Police does not start a campaign to remove the statue for some politically correct writer who was not a racist, a sexist, anti-gay, and a scion of multiculturalism.
A case can be made that Poe was pro-slavery and might have supported the South in the Civil War had he lived longer. That is if you want to judge him by our present, "enlightened' standards, but then you would be a member of the Cultural Police.
