Thanks for mentioning those artists. I checked out their stuff and they have some very interesting imagery.

Re: Aeron Alfrey's artwork

This isn't getting published anytime soon so I thought I'd show it here. I've got a few panels that I'll probably change and maybe add a page or two. Not sure yet. It's basically done though. I plan on including it in an anthology of short horror illustrated stories I have on the back burner. Some other stories involve a man eating ape that grows out of a knot in a tree, a boogyman made entirely out of cracking knuckles who hunts children thru dark woods, mutilated pigs that exact revenge on slaughter house workers who have too much fun killing their meat and other odd horrific tales. I'm looking forward to drawing horror stories.

Say ca-vhat? Edward Gorey-esque, but much more disturbed. That's a compliment.

Re: Aeron Alfrey's artwork

Some months back, a special gallery section was created for Aeron's work which contains additional images beyond those shown in the main section of The Imaginary Museum. I just stumbled across the directory tonight while searching for something else.

Re: Aeron Alfrey's artwork

Here's a few older paintings of mine. Sorry about the glare, I need to reshoot some of these.

Re: Aeron Alfrey's artwork

Fabulous little pieces. Fun, a tad comical, and quite unnerving (in a good way).

Re: Aeron Alfrey's artwork

Aeron,

Your freehand sketches suggest to me a style of artwork that was used by the best science fiction magazine illustrators of the 1950s. Excellent!

Tibet: Carnivals?
Ligotti: Ceremonies for initiating children into the cult of the sinister.
Tibet: Gas stations?
Ligotti: Nothing to say about gas stations as such, although I've always responded to the smell of gasoline as if it were a kind of perfume.
