Re: Who still reads Ebooks these days?
With digital monopoly continuing in its current direction, I envisage a time in the near future when the moment anyone writes anything on any electronic device, it will automatically become the property of Google, and you will have to pay them to use and distribute your own words thereafter.

Re: Who still reads Ebooks these days?
Yes, it is unfortunate how many people expect everything to be dirt cheap, I think music is probably suffering more for this.
I'm curious why pretty much everyone (including many concerned with piracy) uses youtube as a free jukebox now. I try to decide for each piece of music if this exposure is more likely to benefit or hurt the musicians. One of the things I like best about books is the variety of smells and designs. It helps you get a sense of the time and place the book came from. More flavour. I am quite afraid of losing all my unread books in an accident. I doubt burglars will be much interested in them.

Re: Who still reads Ebooks these days?
I don't think ebooks can ever completely replace the "real thing", but I do think they have a useful place.
I for one am grateful for their existence as otherwise I would never have been introduced to Reggie Oliver's works. I love the feeling of an honest to goodness hardback book, but ebooks have been able to open the world of literature up for a lot of people who may not have been able to afford traditional books.

Re: Who still reads Ebooks these days?
I'm a paper book only reader at this point. I don't have an aversion to eBooks I just haven't invested in a Kindle or other such device. Years ago, I was told by a representative of a publisher that, "I'd better get used to eBooks, because like it or not it was the wave of the future."
I did have an aversion to that.

Re: Who still reads Ebooks these days?
For me, I purchased the hard copies of my favorite books and read new books on ebook. I enjoy the convenient of ebook, but I also love the weight of a paper book in my hands.

"Tell me how you want to die, and I'll tell you who you are. In other words, how do you fill out an empty life? With women, books, or worldly ambitions? No matter what you do, the starting point is boredom, and the end self-destruction. The emblem of our fate: the sky teeming with worms. Baudelaire taught me that life is the ecstasy of worms in the sun, and happiness the dance of worms."

Re: Who still reads Ebooks these days?
I often do the reverse of that and seek out the ebook editions of things I loved in hardcover as a way to always keep it with me.

Re: Who still reads Ebooks these days?
Largely an eBook reader because of the affordable price point and age making it less fun to lug seventy tons of books around every time I move. When buying print books I prefer hard-backed copies, to ensure they last. So the books physically resting on my shelves have either sentimental, academic, or collector value to me. The rest go on the Kindle.
(I remember opening an excruciatingly heavy box full of paperbacks after one move and thinking to myself "Why did I pack all of these? I'm probably never going to read 90% of them again")

Re: Who still reads Ebooks these days?
Kinda didn't know where to put this so thought here might be most appropriate. Dark Regions is having a Kindle sale. Went to Amazon and the following three books are 99 cents a piece
W.H. Pugmire's Gathered Dust and Others (that's the one that got my attention) James Chambers - The Engines of Sacrifice (never heard of him but supposed to be Lovecraftian novellas) David Dunwoody - Dark Entities (no idea who he is) Spend more on coffee each day so thought it'd be worth the 3 bucks. Just wanted to spread the word.
