In honor of Pride Month, thought it would be cool to start something like this.

Neat article on the the relationship between Barlow and H-Peel.

Re: LGBT Corner

Nice to have a thread like this.

Due to being born with a hormonal imbalance, I'm male-bodied but have to take female hormones to prevent chronic pain caused by my bodies unwillingness to use Testosterone properly. This means I fit under the 'Trans' umbrella, even though I take a low enough dose that I don't transition fully to female. Generally I try and present as androgynously as possible, as the hormonal imbalance has left me with a very slender frame.

Re: LGBT Corner

Good piece. I do sometimes think straight people used to be a lot more camp and stopped doing a lot of things because they became too associated with homosexuality.

I've posted this on other threads but very relevant here. Numerous authors mentioned.

But this extreme approach has been changing for awhile, and usually has to do with resources for older artists.

Re: LGBT Corner

Was there any trans speculative fiction authors before Rachel Pollack and Jessica Amanda Salmonson?

This might be a bit of a reach considering she was more of a Decadent/Symbolist author than a speculative author, but Zinaida Gippius (1869 - 1945) could be considered to fall under the modern day Trans umbrella, as she was rumoured to have been Intersex.

Jean Stine is a near-contemporary of Pollack and Salmonson, and may have been slightly before in her publishing career and transition (not sure about that).

Re: LGBT Corner

Janrae Frank was associated with Salmonson. She had one professional collection, co-edited an anthology, but most of her output was self-published ebook novels. But the terrible thing is, they've mostly been deleted from amazon and smashwords. You can get her werewolf series on Lulu and some of it on amazon. But unless her friends and family gets the rest of it back online this stuff might disappear completely.

When I was eleven years old, I started to think of myself in the male pronoun. It was not the simple wish for maleness that some girls experience; I actually thought of myself as male. In some of my social circles, I am called Jack.
It was not permissible to be a bi-sexual (until very recently) and as a result I was very sexually confused. Every time I fell in love with a woman, I was convinced that I was a Lesbian. When I would turn around and fall in love with man, I was convinced that I must have actually been straight. As I became more knowledgable, I realized that I was a bi-sexual.
