Horror Manga Artworks (image intensive)
Here is a selection of some of my favorite manga imagery. If you aren't already familiar, you should certainly seek out any and all work by Kazuo Umezu and Junji Ito, their work should appeal to any fan of Ligotti.

This stuff is pretty cool and intense, I like the one with the girls that have what looks growing spaghetti out of their mouths. Thanks for posting these images, I didn't know that this kind of Manga existed.

Re: Horror Manga Artworks (image intensive)
I know Junji Ito has put out some fairly Lovecraftian manga pieces. Sadly, a great deal of his work still isn't translated into English. What's currently coming out seems to be reprints of things like "Uzumaki"--a three volume work about a town obsessed/possessed with spirals. The best book I have found is volume three of "Museum of Terror," released last year by Dark Horse. It gives a sampling of Ito's shorter works. The first two volumes are both of another longer work, "Tomie." Dark Horse was originally supposed to do a full translated print run of Ito's stuff into English, but it seems the first three books haven't sold well enough yet, and further Ito mangas in English are on hold.

More Junji Ito!
Daniel Lau is generously posting translated versions of Junji Ito's newest work, including the very Lovecraftian Hellstar Remina, his most recent short stories, and an adaptation of Frankenstein (which has this gem as an extra). Readers should note these are read right-to-left because they have the original Japanese page structure.

Yeah thos Museum of Terror releases sure were nice. Also, there's the even weirder Gyo, where rotting sharks and fish attack people on mainland. There are a lot of his works translated into french in print if that could interest anyone. He's one of the few manga creators that can actually scare me.

I'm working my way through the generously translated versions on Daniel Lau's site and I am continually impressed by the imagination and truly unsettling nature of them.

Re: Horror Manga Artworks (image intensive)
Really loved Junji Ito's manga Uzumaki; definitely an atmospheric burn.
Suehiro Maruo is pretty darn good as well. But then again, the sci-fi/cyberpunk Battle Angel (Gunnm) is still my favorite manga (both series); Yukito Kishiro is a fantastic b & w artist.
