C-SPAN2 BookTV Visits Providence, Rhode Island

Those who have access to C-SPAN2 BookTV may be interested in this, from this weekend's schedule:

BookTV Visits Providence, Rhode Island

No specifics are given, but surely their advertised tour of Providence's literary sites will include some Lovecraftiana . . . ? I'll be aghast if it doesn't.

I believe this program will eventually be available on the C-SPAN2 website and possibly YouTube.

Re: C-SPAN2 BookTV Visits Providence, Rhode Island

I am aghast. Sorry for passing along my false expectations. The literary sites toured were a library, a historical society, and a bookstore (all of which looked interesting). Unless I missed something, there wasn't even a mention of Lovecraft. There was a brief anecdote about Poe in connection with the Athenaeum Library, but, anyway, sorry. I am abashed.

Re: C-SPAN2 BookTV Visits Providence, Rhode Island

You'd think the people from BookTV would've done their homework; Lovecraft is the only person from Providence with his own Library of America volume. He lived and died there. Even Cormac McCarthy blew town. You have nothing to be ashamed of gveranon; think the BookTV crew does though. Totally uncool to not even have a shout out to HPL.
