Re: Christopher Slatsky

Christopher sent me his collection about a month ago. One of the best I've ever read; right up there with Quentin S. Crisp and our own Dr. Locrian at the very top of the tree.

Put your faith in God; he won't expect you.
Put your faith in death, because it's free.
If you believe in nothing, honey, it believes in you.

Cop some Slatsky. He's one of the best going.
Thank you Ted. I'm speechless—your collection is such a phenomenal work I can't find adequate words to express how much your support means to me.

I've read it twice. I should've mentioned the book more than once around here, but, yeah, it's really good. If you've got the cash, then there's no reason not to get it.

"In a less scientific age, he would have been a devil-worshipper, a partaker in the abominations of the Black Mass; or would have given himself to the study and practice of sorcery. His was a religious soul that had failed to find good in the scheme of things; and lacking it, was impelled to make of evil itself an object of secret reverence."

Re: Christopher Slatsky

I am also a big fan. After reading Alectryomancer and Other Weird Tales I asked him if he wanted to do a chapbook with Dim Shores and he did! I published Palladium At Night in June. The story has occult science fiction elements, plenty of weirdness, and a fully-realized protagonist. I love it.

Keep your eye on Slatsky. He is producing some amazing writing.

Re: Christopher Slatsky

If you like Christopher Slatsky's work, you must read Palladium at Night. It is an amazing story with SF and weird elements, and a touch of Jack Parsons. I read it in one sitting. Slatsky gives cosmic horror a new angle to get lost in. The chapbook is also a work of art, a beautiful and uncanny physical object, which again shows why ebooks will never replace the real book.

Re: Christopher Slatsky

In addition to Alectromancer, I just read Palladium at Night and loved it. I wish that it were a full-length novel.

Another thing to check out is his play
FROM A PEOPLE OF STRANGE LANGUAGE a play by Christopher Slatsky (Dunhams Manor Playhouse) Online Store Powered by Storenvy

I can't wait to see what he comes upwith next.

Re: Christopher Slatsky

I'm a huge fan of what he's doing. I first read his work via the Dunhams Manor chapbooks and followed them up with his collection they put out. It's all great stuff.

I took his story "Devil's Gonna Catch You In The Corners" for Strange Aeons Issue 20 (still one of my favorite stories of his) and Sam Cowan and I took his story "SPARAGMOS" for the upcoming Looming Low anthology.
