Re: Antinatalism humor
Not exactly antinatalism, but from the childfree community:
This woman's argument : "By having children, you pay for all the work that your parents and society at large put into making you and raising you, and provide the next link in the chain of human's progress. It's a debt that you can probably never pay back if you choose not to procreate."
"Tell me how you want to die, and I'll tell you who you are. In other words, how do you fill out an empty life? With women, books, or worldly ambitions? No matter what you do, the starting point is boredom, and the end self-destruction. The emblem of our fate: the sky teeming with worms. Baudelaire taught me that life is the ecstasy of worms in the sun, and happiness the dance of worms."

Weirdly enough, I've long thought that the debt to society idea is an argument in favour of antinatalism, in the following personal way: It's true that the way I spend my life might not be valued by society, but the fact I don't have children means I'm not opting into society and therefore not asking for society's goods to uphold my future bloodline. If I say, "Well, I can see this game is not for me," and don't reserve a seat at the table for descendants, then society surely has less say over how I should be spending the life I myself did not choose. I think it's clear that this idea contains a principle opposite to that in the quoted statement.

Ah, I see she's some kind of vegan eugenicist.

Re: Antinatalism humor
I think that the vegan recidivism rate is poor is because it is too inconvenient to remain compassionate. People are more lazy than cruel. The less friction to leading a moral life the better. Show me a fast food vegan McDonalds and I'll show you a population of elevated morality. She is also not factoring in the people who are vegans not because they are particularly fond of animals but because they hate plants.

Re: Antinatalism humor
I'm not vegan, but have some sympathy with veganism. It goes without saying that, if I'm not vegan, I'm not fruitarian (besides, I have a horror of many kinds of fruit).
Anyway, I have no motivation for persuading people from these views, especially in a humorous thread. In the "eugenicist vegan" equation, it's the eugenicist part that prompted me to make the comment. I added the "vegan" part so as not to be unfair to the woman by equating her with the usual image of a eugenicist. Nonetheless, I am not sure to what extent "vegan" mitigates "eugenicist".

Re: Antinatalism humor
They're not cheap right now but if more vegan fast foods open the prices will probably lower. Eh, I probably should try getting this thread back on track:

I found this but I'm not sure if Quentin S. Crisp would like being a meme...
