But, of course, this is a guess.
Something similar happened in another Samuels thread. I haven't heard from Pharpetron, even though I sent him a private message expressing my concerns. He was one of my favorite posters here. I actually thought his question about whether a Christian can write nihilistic and/or decadent fiction was a legitimate one. Samuels thought so as well; otherwise, he wouldn't have devoted so much space to it on his blog. Granted, it's a shame the debate wasn't conducted in a different manner.

In any case, it would be nice to see him start posting again. Sorry, I guess I used this thread to express my own concerns.

"In a less scientific age, he would have been a devil-worshipper, a partaker in the abominations of the Black Mass; or would have given himself to the study and practice of sorcery. His was a religious soul that had failed to find good in the scheme of things; and lacking it, was impelled to make of evil itself an object of secret reverence."

~ Clark Ashton Smith, "The Devotee of Evil"

I guess none of us have any news on this worrying mystery?

Re: Has anyone heard from Cynothoglys?

According to my research, Cynothoglys is alive and well but has had quite a profound religious and/or political conversion, which necessitated dropping all things Ligotti from his life. I sincerely wish him all the best. He is a talented, sensitive and fascinating person.

His last visit to the site was in late November. I'll look into it.

Re: Has anyone heard from Cynothoglys?

This just in from TLO member JonPi regarding Druidic:

"I just got off the phone with his neighbor and he does come and go to his home every few days. She saw him just a few days ago."

So good news!

Re: Has anyone heard from Cynothoglys?

Thank you very much, Jon. I was wondering about Druidic a few days ago myself and this are great news.

Your fall should be like the fall of mountains. But I was before mountains. I was in the beginning, and shall be forever. The first and the last. The world come full circle. I am not the wheel. I am the hand that turns the wheel. I am Time, the Destroyer. I was the wind and the stars before this. Before planets. Before heaven and hell. And when all is done, I will be wind again, to blow this world as dust back into endless space. To me the coming and going of Man is as nothing.
