What are your favorite horror video games?
I recently finished Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth and it was awesome, really scary and all. The mood was perfect and the music really enhanced it.

What are your favorites? Anything good to recommend?

My favorites so far are this one I finished and Clive Barker's Undying and, among the oldies, the Gabriel Knight series, I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream and Dark Seed 1 and 2 (just because the H.R. Giger artwork; not really great games).

I find the Amnesia series (That's 'Amnesia: The Dark Descent' and 'Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs') almost too terrifying to play. I've given up on ever finishing The Dark Descent, but I'm persevering with A Machine For Pigs. It's an incredible storyline, and extremely atmospheric.

I was thinking about playing Alien: Isolation. I read good reviews about it.

Also, I forgot to mention The Dark Eye, an old game based on Edgar Allan Poe's stories; it gave me nightmares as a kid. The 7th Guest was pretty cool too.
